I'm still here and still chugging away on the Essential Cardigan. In the last several weeks, I've picked it back up with hopes of wearing it before it officially becomes too warm for a cardigan. I was pretty close to making it too, but after a very long and cold April it seems to finally be warming up. Grrr. I guess it's my own fault considering I did start this back in cough cough August. Either way, I did get the one sleeve set in today. It came out ok. There's some puckering on the front part but I'm not convinced yet that some serious blocking won't fix it. I think once the collar and ribbing are done and it's been blocked one more time, it will lay just fine.
This is my first time setting in a sleeve so I'm not looking for perfection. At this point I kind of just want it done. While trying to get a few pictures earlier, Timber decided to get in on the action.
Timber is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteI think set in sleeves are always awkward to sew. I just pin them in place and cross my fingers when it comes to sewing them.
I've never done a set in sleeve, but I think yours looks nice. I'm sure I'll tackle it some day, but I won't hold my breath since it takes me so long to make sweaters.
ReplyDeleteAnd Timber is so dang adorable!
I'm going to have to do this pretty soon, and I'm a little nervous about it. You're almost there!
ReplyDeleteeven when you think your knitting is not perfect it still looks perfect to me! hi timber!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing. Pets totally ignore us all day then the minute we start trying to get a good photo of a finished project -Shazam! There they are SITTING on the dang thing we had just carefully laid out so artistically!
ReplyDeleteI think the sleeve looks great. Timber is a cutie!

I'm very impressed by your set in sleeve! If it's too warm in Ohio by the time you finish, you could always head farther north. :)
