Blogtoberfest

Oh, where has the time gone? Life on Laffer has been anything but calm lately. Without going into too much detail, there were a couple of weeks where both of my in-laws were hospitalized and I was running between two different hospitals like a cab. Things are finally calming down now and I'm starting to feel like a regular person again. Thank goodness because I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep it up.

Anyway, it's that time of the year again. Along with cooler temps (uh, 48 degrees today? Brrr!) comes Blogtoberfest. I participated last year and was actually able to maintain the daily postings right until the very end. I'm hoping this year will help me get back into the swing of things. Since it was so rainy today (and too cold for me to come out from under my blanket) I wasn't able to get any new pictures of my works-in-progress.

I'm currently knitting away on my Audrey in Unst cardigan. I bought the yarn for this back in November and have been waiting to get it on the needles since then. I started this about three weeks ago and have sort of just picked at it when I needed some emotional relief. You know how it is. It's a bit further than this; I've separated the front and back and am working on the front panels now. I really can't wait to get this done. This is a cardigan I've been wanting to add to my wardrobe for some time now.

Well that's the tidbit for today. Since October is a long month there will definitely be more to come!

  3. Oh wow that does sound chaotic. Glad to hear the in-laws are doing better.

And yay Audrey in Unst! That sweater is indeed a great wardrobe piece. It's worked back and forth, right? Not in the round to be steeked? There are so many cardigans out there that I want to make but those long purling rows always kind of turn me off. Fickle, I know.

  6. Mmm, love that shade of red. I've long wanted an Audrey, too. I swatched for it months and months ago, but never got farther than that. Maybe this winter. Or spring. ;)

I am glad things are improving with the in-laws. I'm sure that's been very stressful!
