Amigurumi Update

I haven't been posting this week because I've been in California visitng my parents and I was smart enough to bring my camera but forgetful enough to leave the adapter to actually upload the pictures. Whoops. So I thought instead I'd tell you about the Amigurumi Swap that I participated in with the Akron Stitch 'n Bitch ladies.

I mentioned that my swap partner was Andi. Some of your made guesses on my "secret" amigurumi picture and sure enough, it was a dragon!

Isn't he just the sweetest guy? Andi dubbed him Erik. He's a nice dragon. This was my first amigurumi and I was surprised at how quickly he was able to be crocheted up. Truth be told though, I can crochet much more quickly than I can knit. Erik was made holding two strands of yarn together (a DK and a fingering weight). He is crocheted from "tip to tail" as Adam would say (snout to tail) and then the ears, wings, legs, and back spikes are all crocheted seperately and sewn on last.

Pattern: My Fierce but Friendly Really Dragon by Lucy Ravenscar
Yarn: 1 skein each of Berroco Comfort DK and Knit Picks Palette
Hook: G hook (4mm)
Began: March 6
Finished: March 7

In Bark in the Park news, I have received yarn donations from two wonderful blog readers and Ravelers.  Cher from Hook and Wool and Judy from Emptyknitster's Never Ending Knitting have both donated yarn for the raffle. Thank you so much for helping! Your donations have been recorded and you have both been entered into the raffle. Again, donations are being collected throughout the month of March and the raffle will begin April 1. Please consider donating if you can.

Finally, the giveaway I have going on will continue until tomorrow at midnight when I'll be on my way home and somewhere over the Great Plains region, I'd imagine. So there's still time to enter. I will draw the winner on Saturday. Good luck! A Real Blogger (and a Giveaway!)

Lazy Sunday

I'm finally starting to feel normal again after Wednesday's fiasco. I spent most of yesterday laying in bed and trying to get my amigurumi project for the Stitch 'n Bitch swap ready. I had a project planned, but the more of it I crocheted, the less I liked it. My swap partner is Andi, a fun, funky lady and I wanted something that would suit her. I finally settled on a project last night and got to hookin'. I crocheted for four hours last night and some this morning. I've assembled all the pieces and voila!

Any guesses?
