Last night I cast on for something new with a skein of Malabrigo that has been lingering in my stash since 2009. I had balled this yarn way back when I didn't yet have a yarn ball winder. Today, I received my very first yarn bowl! And if you're wondering, since I had already cast on my new project, instead of pulling out the few rows I had, I unwound the entire ball of yarn only to thread it through the hole and wind it back up.
This was made by the computer teacher at my school. We arranged to have a trade of one yarn bowl for one pair of hand knit socks. I haven't started on her socks yet (I'm going to have to get cracking on that this weekend) but this morning she came in with five yarn bowls for me to choose from. She hadn't made these before but said she was just trying out some fun things now that she had.
I love it!
That is one cute yarn bowl, she did a great job for a first attempt.
ReplyDeleteAwesome :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a really cute bowl!
ReplyDeleteThe yarn bowl is pretty! Much more desirable than the clear lidded jar with the hole in the top.
ReplyDeleteHow clever! I love crocheting, but always get annoyed when my yarn gets tangled up.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great exchange! I've admired many different yarn bowls but I've never seen one with a simple hole in the center of the side -- it's great. Happy knitting those mitts this weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty yarn bowl!I really like your blog! Happy Blogtoberfest!
