Naming my last few patterns was easy. The name just kind of popped up in my head and stuck. This one, however, has been giving me some trouble. So what do you do when you don't know what to do? Head to the blog!
How about this: I'll share some sneak peek photos with you and you help me come up with a pattern name? In return, the giver of the name chosen will receive a copy of the released pattern gifted to you through Ravelry (or emailed if you don't have a Rav account).

Ready for a few facts to help in the naming?
- A long-sleeved tee for boys (sizes 3months -12 years)
- Knit in fingering weight to be a transitional winter to spring piece
- Yarn color called Trusty Rusty
If you're interested in helping me with this dilemma leave a comment with your idea below as well as your Ravelry id or an email where I can reach you. I'll announce the winner the day of the pattern release which will most likely be around April 1st!
Thank you!
This sweater makes we think of weekend walks through nature paths during the spring and fall where the little ones will have their curiosity spiked from the emerging buds on trees, blooming flowers, and falling leaves and of course the puddle jumping. I great name would be the 'Weekender'. My Rav ID is AshleysKnitts.
ReplyDeleteI love baby knits that don't look like a baby would wear them. The stitch pattern , construction and even the color remind me of something is knit for my husband (if he wore hand knits that is!). This looks like a "grown up " sweater do my vote is for "Little Man"
ReplyDeleteMy Rav ID is BinaBKnits.
I think "Rustle me Up" that is a boy thing.
ReplyDeleteBeatiful sweater. It reminds me of the sturdy, warm clothes of pioneers and explorers, and would be just the thing to keep a young "Trailblazer" warm.
ReplyDelete"Windrow" as it reminds me of a field of mown hay with the lines on it, or else "Spring Growth" as it could be new seeds breaking through the soil.

Thermal Rust or Henley Rust?
ReplyDeletePebbles as the stitch pattern reminds me of pebbles and little boys love to pick up pebbles! Johnston4kids on rav.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought when I saw the texture was waffles. So I'm going with Chicken and Waffles. Because it's for boys. If it were for girls, I'd feel less silly.
ReplyDeleteI would name it "Romp and Circumstance", as a play on "Pomp and Circumstance," because I can imagine a little boy marching around outside looking for mischief, while staying plenty warm in this top.
ReplyDeleteI think of my little red wagon when I see that! You know, the old fashioned kind made of metal that would rust when you left it outside after a day playing in the mud and dirt? So "little red wagon" is what I would call it. :)
ReplyDeleteRavelry name is ashley1214
How about "stick with me Sweater". great texture almost heirloom quality. simple yet interesting design. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI thought "Rusty Nails" might be a cute name.
ReplyDeleteTrusty tee - nannym
ReplyDeleteWell if it was made in blue it reminds me of stars, so Stary Night, or Twinkle. In this color "Autumn Nights"
ReplyDeleteKnitterpatty
For some reason the name that popped into my head the first time I saw it was "cross-overs". RavID: Tanknit
ReplyDeleteI'm not very clever with word play, but to me, this pattern kind of reminded me of train tracks and more specifically the ties and gravel that goes between them. Kind of like in this image http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d4/Train_tracks_in_Coledale.jpg
ReplyDeleteso .... I'm thinking something to do with trains?? maybe your local train line or company?? sorry I probably haven't helped at all!
