A Good Day for Mail

Yesterday was a great day for mail because I received my package from the Karma Yarn Swap post-holiday swap! The premise of the swap was to send a handmade item, some yarny goodness, and an edible treat without spending more than $10 to $15. It was done secret santa style where we didn't know who had our name until we received our package. My spoiler was Amie from California (UndrThTblNDrumng on Ravelry).

First of all, she packed my goodies into a flat rate envelope. Impressive!

My edible treat was homemade pumpkin fudge! It is so delicious. I pretty much love pumpkin anything: bread, pie, cake, cheesecake, DQ Blizzards. I was super excited when I opened this and saw what it was. Amie shared the recipe with me here

She sent me two skeins of Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk (aran weight). Not only do I love baby alpaca (as I've said before, they're my favorite kind of alpacas) but I'm a big fan of silk blends and this is 80/20 baby alpaca and silk.

Finally, she made me a pair of thrummed mittens! They're brown with lime green thrums that match my coat. I've been wanting a pair, but not really wanting to make a pair so now I don't have to!

It was such a great swap package. I think we were all a bit nervous about being able to stick to the price limit but my package was so well thought out by Amie that I can honestly say it was one of the best packages I've received.
