Cables and a Cardigan

I've been feeling like I really don't have much knitting to talk about lately. This is probably because I've been working on the Rosamund's Cardigan pattern from the Fall 2009 Interweave Knits since January. My knitting on this has been very slow going. Purling is not easy for me to do quickly and for a long while I had to pay a lot of attention to the cable pattern and where to add the increases and blah, blah, blah.

I currently have about 7.5" knitted from the armpit to the bottom and I need 12", so at least it's finally coming along. There are a TON of projects that I actually want to start working on but there's something about this unfinished cardigan hanging around, laughing at me, taunting me, that makes me want to finish it before I start something else. Once it is finished, I'm sure I'll love it. I really like the fact that this is a short sleeve cardigan, perfect for Midwestern springs. I also truly love the reversible cables, which were the main reason I chose to knit this in the first place. Even though the pattern is reversible, I'll probably wear this with the purl side out. Or maybe not. We'll see. I just really need to get this project done as I promised my mother a felted purse for Mother's Day. I have the yarn, but have yet to actually start the project. I'm going to set myself a goal, right here and right now, to have this finished by Sunday night.

Right...

  1. I'm a real one project at a time kind of a gal, but sometimes I just get the itch to pick up something else. When that happens, I MAKE myself finish whatever piece I'm working on - sleeve, front, or back - and then knit a quick little something before going on!

I LOVE CABLES! A very pretty top, Andrea!

  2. Wow, that is a beautiful cardigan! I'll have to go look that pattern up on Ravelry. I am not a monogamous knitter at all! I have to have multiple things on the needles to entertain my ADD self...
