Sample Knitting: Weaverknits

Yesterday I spent pretty much the entire day working on a piece that I am sample knitting for Weaverknits. You may recognize her work from the Spring 2010 issue of Interweave Knits:

Transverse Cardigan

In addition to this pattern, she has over thirty other designs that you can view and knit on Ravelry.

I've been following the Weaverknits blog for some time now and when the call for sample knitters went out, I jumped at the chance. Literally. I think I emailed her within minutes of the post. These samples will be for a collection of designs that she will be publishing towards the fall. The yarn she sent me to use for this sample is Jade Sapphire Lacey Lamb. It is an oh-so-soft lace weight yarn in a colorway appropriately titled Glacier Blue. I may have fallen in love with this yarn the moment I opened the package.

It's like a big, soft, squishy easter egg made of yarn. The color is wonderfully vibrant. You can't help but feel happy when you see it. And the fabric it is producing is so soft and ethereal. Ok, enough blogging. Back to knitting.

  1. Oh, lucky you! I admired that sweater when I received the magazine earlier this spring.

    Happy knitting!

  3. And... it's only about $18 a skein. If there is a downside to this yarn I have yet to discover it!!!

    Your garter stitch looks LOVELY!

  6. Wow. You've convinced me to buy some Lacey Lamb at my LYS. I've been eyeing it and petting it for sometime, but we don't have that goregous blue color. I'm considering the plum purple we have.

Can't wait to see the finished object!
