I mentioned at the beginning of the month that I had some pretty exciting news to share with you. Well, the day has finally come. I would like to present to you Diana's Blossom Scarf, my first published pattern in the new Interweave Crochet Accessories 2010:
Am I excited? You betcha! I've been waiting anxiously for the preview to be released so I could finally share this with everyone. This was my secret project from early in the summer, in case you're wondering.
This scarf is done using three skeins of Malabrigo Silky Merino in Redwood Bark (you could very likely get away with using only two skeins, though). The flower appliques are crocheted out of Malabrigo Lace (held double) in Orchid, then sewn on.
This is the color I had submitted the project in. The original colors they sent me were a bit garish, so when Marcy Smith contacted me again asking if I could rework the scarf in a different color, I jumped at the chance. I definitely think the colors of the second scarf are more true to my vision (spring blossoms) and perfect for fall.
I'll be doing a giveaway of a kit to make this scarf as well as sharing some of my own photos later next week!
