More Yarn

Yesterday I was having one of those blah days where you're just tired and burnt out from all your regular things. There was only one thing that could make it better: a trip to my LYS. I ran in with the purpose of getting yarn inspiration for my Stitch n' Bitch swap partner (we're having a small-gifts-anything-goes type of swap next month) and ran out with this:

A skein of Malabrigo Rios in Azules (for me, not my swap partner).

Obviously, I was inspired.

I've been thinking about making some fingerless mitts for myself this fall season and this may be just the skein to make them with. Do you have a good fingerless mitts pattern that might work well with this worsted weight yarn? I'm kind of leaning more toward something simple and basic with not too many frills.

  1. oo what a beautiful skein!
i have the perfect pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/75-yard-malabrigo-fingerless-mitts - you can adjust the sizing so it uses all your yarn : )

  5. Just gorgeous! Love that shade of blue! Ideas for fingerless mitts (all on Rav):

    Trilsea'n
    Helix Gloves
    Full O' Win Mitts
    Motorcycle Gloves
    Dashing

And just in case you find another color of Rios that would look good, I would add Chimera as I think they are awesome gloves. :)

  8. I love the yarn. Maybe it would work with Susie's Reading Mitts. Pattern is on Rav. It's got cute little picot edging. I made a pair for my sister-in-law last year.

  10. My favorites are Raspberry Mitts (totally plain), Cozy Thermal Mitts (thermal stitch pattern), and Susie's Reading Mitts for a bit of lace at the cuff and fingers.
