Cranberry Spread

Another Christmas gift finished and crossed off the list!

I ended up not being able to finish this by Saturday morning (or at least not before the post office closed). With all the maniacal crocheting that's been going on, I was starting to have some serious wrist pain. Seaming all the blasted squares together took me around a total of 8 hours over two days (quite a bit longer than I had anticipated or allotted for on my yarn-crafting schedule). I ended up staying up until wee hours (again) on Friday night and only managed to have all squares joined and a single crochet border done. That's right, no ends woven in, no extra 6 border rounds. I thought I could get up a little earlier Saturday and get the ends taken care of but even with my early start, after an hour only two rows of squares had been finished. I decided instead of despising the blanket by the time I was done, I would take a short break and pick it up later in the afternoon. Another 6 hours (no, I'm not kidding) Saturday afternoon and my blanket was finally done.  It has been washed, dried, packed and shipped.  Despite all the wrist aching, I'm really surprised with how quickly I was able to complete this. On Friday, the week before last, I had only 14 squares and by Wednesday last week I had crocheted 50 squares. It's not enormous but about 51" square. Hooray!

  14. That is a beautiful spread! Be careful with your wrist. You don't want to push it, or you'll be paying for it later.
