January Slump

As far as finished projects go, January has not turned out to be one of my most productive months. It's not that I haven't been knitting, it's mostly that I've been working on some big sample projects that take a lot of my time (and of course, none which I can blog about).
I did decide this month to get started on my sock knitting resolution. A plain stockinette sock is a simple enough project that I can take with me and not have to worry about counting or patterns. So I cast on my newly titled School Socks. No, lime green and blue are not my school colors. These socks got their name because they are only worked on while I have class at night. And since I only have class on Wednesday nights and every other Tuesday, they're not seeing a whole lot of action.

Enough action, however, to have reached the heel and a couple of rows of the foot in two weeks' time. I figure at this rate, I'll finish them in a month or so. I like the plain sock because I can still look at the professor and act like I'm listening pay full attention during the lecture.

This coming month will be full of swatching (some of which has already been started) and finishing which will all hopefully lead to more blogging.

  2. Love those colours...particularly the green which reminds me of paint I used to use when I was a little kid at school - the kind you used on butcher's paper with a big thick brush and could swirl endlessly and get lost in the different shades. The word verification on the other hand is a most uninspiring shade of green - certainly nothing resembling organic material.

  3. I'm amazed by you! I have enough trouble staying focused in class when I'm just taking notes.

The socks look good! Knitting socks is a goal I've set for myself. So far I have almost completed a scarf that doesn't roll up into itself. Yay, but I've got a ways to go before socks.

  6. I like those socks, and think the name is fun. You ought to be able to wear those to final exams and perhaps the yarn will have picked up some answers through osmosis.

  8. mmmm, those colors are really beautiful -- i love the muted quality of the green, especially. they look wonderful together! way to pass the time, too. :) i wish i'd been a knitter back in grad school. it would've made my cognitive development class a whole lot more interesting. :)

January tends to be a slow month for me as well. I think it's the cold.
