What's Going On

I know I've been pretty sparse around these parts lately. My lack of enthusiasm for my knitting has really affected my blogging, as well as making that Audrey sweater take forever. I did have quite the mail delivery of books recently. Perhaps you'd like to see them?

Maybe you're noticing a theme here? That's right, even though I haven't been knitting that much, I have been working on something.

And let me tell you, this project has really zapped my energy. I spent most of January and February napping and going to bed early. I'm starting to get some energy back (yay!) which means my knitting is picking up (double yay!!) and I even have some samples I've been working on the past couple of weeks. Adam and I are pretty excited, although I think he might be more excited than I am. It almost still feels unreal to me. Even though I'm at the point where I can't button my pants.

I love how everyone says, "oh, but you're so tiny!" Well, yes, and I appreciate that. But if you look back at posts from October (Rocky Coast Cardigan post) you'll see what I mean. I also needed to invest in some new undergarments! I shared the news with my principal a few weeks ago and now that I'm in my second trimester I'm feeling better about telling people. The baby is expected to arrive at the beginning of September. Just in time for school to start!

  2. Ho'omaka'i to you and your husband! How exciting for you both.
Yes, baby will drain a lot of energy and nutrients from you. Make sure you take your supplements and eat a lot of fruit and veggies. Skip the shellfish; it's linked to bad eczema. Pamper yourself for sure and I guarantee if you exercise while being pregnant, it'll be a lot easier to lose the weight afterwards. Nursing didn't do jack for me on the weight part.

  3. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Andrea, that's so exciting! I'm very happy for you. My oldest daughter is newly pregnant so it feels like babies all around. Wow. So happy. It'll feel real when your baby moves and kicks you. :)

  16. Congrats! It's an exciting journey, but I know what you mean about it not quite feeling totally real. I felt the same way. And then the first several months she was here, I didn't feel like a real mother. But she'll be two next month, and I definitely feel like a mom now!

I've been reading your blog for several months, and I always love your projects. Have fun knitting baby things! Baby blankets are the best!
